SEOUL, South Korea -- Angelina Jolie says she's worried about the people of North Korea, particularly the persecution defectors face when repatriated to the reclusive state.
Jolie was in Seoul on Wednesday to promote her latest action thriller, "Salt," which opens with a scene that takes place in a North Korean prison.
Jolie, who serves as a goodwill ambassador for the U.N. High Commissioner for Refugees, said she got a tutorial on the plight of North Korean defectors from Seoul-based officials from the U.N. refugee agency.

Turnover is an issue that affects every office. But when it comes to "The Office," NBC has pretty big shoes to fill with the departure of Steve Carell at the end of the coming season.
Nonetheless, NBC plans to soldier on without its star. Thus begins the guessing game: What big name will the network bring in to replace Carell's Michael Scott?
But before NBC scours the comedy world for the best and brightest, there's several options sitting under its nose. Because like any office, Dunder-Mifflin may be best served by promoting from within ("within" in the most liberal sense of the word). So what about...

Admit it: You can't wait another 24 hours to go by to get your first taste of the new season of "Jersey Shore" (July 29, 10 p.m. ET/PT). To tide you over, the good folks at MTV have supplied an exclusive sneak peek. It's just under a minute, but there's enough of J-Woww, Sammi and, of course, Snooki, to get you through....

Cheech and Chong will get The Simpsons treatment on the show’s upcoming season, showrunner Al Jean let slip during a panel at Comic-Con on Saturday (along with news of a visit from the cartoon cast of “Glee” and Facebook creator Mark Zuckerberg).
Slated to air in Spring 2011, THR has learned the episode -- written by Dan Castellaneta (who voices Homer) and Deb Lacusta -- spoofs the more than two decades-long break-up of the iconic stoner duo, in a depiction which Tommy Chong declares is “the best one yet.”

Never thought we'd see the day that the MTV sleazefest "Jersey Shore" became a subject on ABC's Sunday-morning politics show "This Week." But maybe it was to be expected when New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie showed up, and host Jake Tapper couldn't resist getting his thoughts on the show. Gov. Christie is most certainly not a fan, deeming the series a "negative" for New Jersey. Have a look above...

Zsa Zsa Gabor's daughter on Friday denied a report that her mother was critically ill and not responding to human contact.
"She is not in a coma. She is not on any kind of death watch. She is responsive and on medications. All vital signs are still going strong, and she is talking," Constance Francesca Hilton said in a statement to Reuters.
Hilton issued her statement while visiting her mother at the Los Angeles hospital where Gabor is recovering from hip surgery earlier this week.
Gabor's ninth husband Prince Frederic von Anhalt told Reuters earlier on Friday that Gabor, who is in her 90s, was in critical condition and was unresponsive, adding "it is not looking good."
The Hungarian-born actress was partially paralyzed in a 2002 car accident. She broke her hip on Saturday after falling out of bed while watching television and reaching to answer the phone.
Gabor starred in such films as "Moulin Rouge," "Lili" and "Touch of Evil," and was one of three glamorous sisters who stole the Hollywood limelight in the 1950s and 1960s.
Gabor has never admitted a birth date but is thought by Hollywood journalists to have been born between 1917 and 1919.

How's this for eerie: Simon Monjack died from the same illnesses his wife, Brittany Murphy, succumbed to, according to a coroner's report out today.
Acute pneumonia and severe anemia were listed as the causes of death for both Monjack and Murphy, who died just five months apart. Prescription drugs were found in both of their systems as well, but not at alarming levels.
"Just like Brittany," assistant chief coroner Ed Winter of the Los Angeles County coroner's office told CNN.
Monjack, a 39-year-old British screenwriter, died in May. Murphy, whose credits included "Clueless" and "8 Mile," died last December at the age of 32.
